Hòa Lạc Stem Cell Technology Joint Stock Company (HSC) begins construction of the HSC - HOSTEP Stem Cell Technology Complex according to cGMP standards at the Hòa Lạc High-Tech Park.
On November 7th, Hòa Lạc Stem Cell Technology Joint Stock Company (HSC), a pioneer in the field of biotechnology and stem cells in Vietnam, officially broke ground on the construction of the HSC - HOSTEP Stem Cell Technology Complex at RD6-3 plot in the Research and Development Zone, Hòa Lạc High-Tech Park.
This event marks a significant milestone for HSC in its mission to apply advanced stem cell technology to research and treatment in Vietnam.

The HSC - HOSTEP Stem Cell Technology Complex is being built on a nearly 10,000 m² area, with the aim of advancing stem cell technology for research and treatment in Vietnam following cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. It seeks to meet the current demand for the safe and effective application of stem cell technology in Vietnam and address the future need for adopting and transferring new technologies globally.
The HSC - HOSTEP Stem Cell Technology Complex will be constructed, completed, and brought into operation in two phases. Phase 1, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025, focuses on building the technological infrastructure with a cleanroom system meeting cGMP standards and modern technological production lines. Phase 2 is expected to be completed by mid-2027.
Upon completion, the facility will include:
A cryobank system, research systems, and technology transfer processes to adopt and develop advanced global technologies for the differentiation of specialized stem cell lines, focusing on personalized and targeted treatments.
Testing and standardizing systems for stem cell products meeting GMP and cGMP standards to support the development of cell therapy in clinical applications and public health.
Consultation and training systems to enhance expertise in the field..
The project involves top domestic and international experts in biomedical science and stem cell technology, including:
- Prof. Dr. Andras Dinnyes, Director of BioTalentum Stem Cell Company, Hungary, a leading center for neural stem cell research in Europe.
- Dr. Tuan Huy Nguyen, Goliver Therapeutics, SAS, France.
- Dr. Bach Quoc Khanh, former Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Vietnam.
- Prof. Dr. Gerald Schatten, Director of the Department of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, USA, a leading center for stem cell research..
HSC's team of experts not only possesses extensive experience but also maintains strong international collaborations with research institutes, universities, and medical institutions worldwide.

With its investment in state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge technology, and a team of renowned scientists Vietnam and abroad, HOSTEP aims to become a leading Research and Development center in Vietnam and the region.
According to Dr. Bui Xuan Nguyen, Chairman of HSC, the HOSTEP project is the result of the passion and dedication of the research team, as well as the collaboration of partners who share the vision of making stem cell technology a critical foundation for modern medicine in Vietnam. The project contributes to realizing a scientific, national, and inclusive medical system.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Chairman of the National Medical Council, emphasized that this is a significant event, marking a major step in the development strategy of stem cell technology in Vietnam. It helps build a modern medical system based on advanced science and technology, contributing effectively to public health.
With clear direction and close coordination among regulatory bodies, businesses, and researchers, stem cell specialization is expected to become one of the key fields in Vietnam's healthcare system. With serious investment, HSC is expected to achieve significant advancements, becoming a leader in stem cell technology in Vietnam and the region. The Ministry of Health commits to providing maximum support to make these aspirations a reality.

As a GMP consultancy expert for the project, Mr. Dao Xuan Huong, Chairman and CEO of GMPc Vietnam Joint Stock Company – Vietnam's leading GMP consulting firm – highlighted that in this era of rapid scientific development, stem cell technology promises to bring groundbreaking advancements to medicine.
As the comprehensive cGMP FDA consultant for the HSC - HOSTEP Stem Cell Technology Complex, GMPc Vietnam will accompany HSC throughout the project’s implementation:
- From conceptual design to detailed design.
- During the process of selection, validation of design, equipment installation, operation, and performance.
